Your day at Spilia Village Hotel can very well start with a freshly squeezed orange juice that you yourself make from fresh oranges that are naturally grown in the hotel’s gardens.
Add to this our homemade marmalade, the delicious local cheeses, the known Cretan thyme honey, and the Greek yoghurt, among others, and your breakfast becomes a 360° tasting experience of the best products Crete has to offer.
All of the fresh produce that we use, such as the olives and the olive oil, the tomatoes, the cucumbers, etc., are produced exclusively for the hotel in the private garden of the owner’s father, and they are all pure and organically grown. The olive oil we use is exclusively the highest quality extra virgin olive oil. The region where Spilia Village is located is known all over Greece for the unmatched quality of its agricultural products, which have repeatedly won awards for their supreme quality and authentic taste.
This is the ideal place to relax, in a soothing ambience that blends the delicate citrus aroma with the natural sounds of the chirping birds.
The refreshing swimming pool is in the green garden, surrounded by orange trees. You can have fresh juices, smoothies, cold drinks and snacks served all day in the pool.
The traditional Halara tavern, located in a restored building dating from the Venetian period, brings you into contact with the best tastes of the Cretan cuisine.
The tavern’s local style meals are carefully prepared and served in a unique environment, where the summer shades play with the fine architectural lines of the Venetian stone work.
Most of the raw ingredients of our dishes are purchased directly from selected farmers in the surrounding villages, and the fresh fruits and vegetables are locally grown. In all of our dishes we use exclusively extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality, which is produced from our own olive groves. The local olive oil of our region has repeatedly won national and international awards for its top quality.
The area of Spilia Village is known for its fine wine, which is produced from grapes from the local vineyards. The local wine is perfectly accompanied with locally produced cheese and other delicious dishes of finger food.
At the beginning and the end of the season, when the weather is still cool for the Cretan standards, the wine bar operates indoors, in the cozy “Arkalotrypa” (which means “Badger΄s Nest” in Greek). During the warm summer months the wine bar moves to the beautiful open-air lavender garden.
